The Village of Coal City’s Police Department is seeking a Records Clerk/Administrative Assistant to join its administrative team. The position will remain open until filled, with the first review of applications starting on March 27, 2025. The successful candidate will need proficiency in using the village’s software and computer technology and should focus on serving residents.
Responsibilities include providing specialized administrative support services for the Police Chief, such as assisting with creating, tracking, and filing essential programs, files, and documents. The role also involves ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA Officer), handling other police records requirements, and aiding in scheduling departmental events.
Work will be conducted at the Police Department as needed when residents require services either in person or over the phone. Candidates must reside within a 20-mile radius of Coal City as specified in Section 30.3 of the municipal code. The position offers a salary of $24.50 per hour and is expected to start by April 14, 2025.
