Coal City Elementary School began the academic year with a series of activities focused on student engagement and community involvement.
Students participated in Penny Wars, a fundraising event aimed at supporting childhood cancer awareness. The competition encouraged teamwork among students as they collected donations.
Throughout the year, the school organized themed Spirit Days such as “Dress Like a Pirate,” “Sports Day,” and “Superhero Day.” These events provided opportunities for students to dress up and take part in school traditions.
High school students visited the elementary school to promote school spirit and offer encouragement to younger students. Additionally, the Coal City Fire Department visited the school, presenting information about fire safety and allowing students to see fire trucks up close.
The school also highlighted its Lunch Loft, an area where students can gather during lunch for socializing and celebrations. School administrators noted that the start of the year has been marked by pride and kindness within the school community.
