Coal City High School student Becca Hall will compete in the Illinois High School Association’s State Tennis Tournament as a singles player. She is among the top 128 singles players in Illinois and will play her first match at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, against Wheaton St. Francis.

Hall earned her spot in the state tournament by defeating opponents from Streator and Ottawa during last week’s sectional competition. She enters the three-day tournament with 20 wins this season.

Coach Matt Leman said, “She has the potential to have a great tournament and that is, all due to how hard she plays, how smart she plays.”

The school held a send-off for Hall on Wednesday morning.
