Coal City Middle School's annual holiday concert was held on Tuesday, December 16, featuring performances by the Concert and Jazz Bands. The jazz band opened the evening with three selections: “Moanin,” “Christmas Time is Here,” and “Caribbean Christmas.”
The Concert Band followed with three instrumental pieces: “African Bell Carol,” “All is Calm,” and “Christmas at the Movies.” The latter piece included music from the soundtracks of "Home Alone," "Nightmare Before Christmas," and "Polar Express."
Both bands are under the direction of Andrew Brimm.
The final event of the winter concert series will showcase the middle school choir. This performance is scheduled for December 19 at 7 p.m. in the Coal City Performing Arts Center.
