Students in Liz Friddle's second-grade class are engaged in a project to learn about the Earth's changing surface. The students have created models of cliffs using clay, sand, and rocks. They will soon test their models by spraying them with water to simulate erosion. The outcome of this experiment will determine whether their model cliffs can withstand the effects of erosion or if they will collapse.
"Will their model cliffs survive or will the clay, rocks, and sand wash away and collapse?" is a question that remains to be answered as they move on to part two of the experiment.
