Kathleen R. Esgar, 71, a resident of Coal City, Illinois, and a long-time Mazon resident, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Lightways Hospice and Palliative Home in Joliet. Born in Morris, Kathleen was known for her caring nature, hard work ethic, and artistic talents. She was a former letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and later worked as a receptionist at Dr. Smyk's medical practice in Coal City. Kathleen was devoted to her family, known for her selflessness, caregiving skills, and artistic abilities, creating paintings and hand-made wreaths. She will be remembered for her courage, strength, and kindness towards others. Kathleen is survived by her two children, five grandchildren, seven siblings, four sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, and brothers-in-law. Cremation rites have been accorded, with memorial services scheduled at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City and Evergreen Cemetery in Morris. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements are being managed by Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
