Ruth R. Bunzel, 85, of Coal City, Illinois, passes away at home

Ruth R. Bunzel, 85, of Coal City, Illinois, died on Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2025, at her residence. Born on June 9, 1939, in Kankakee, Illinois, to John William and Bernadine Rice, Ruth was known for her dedication, strength, and hard work. She married Bobby J. Bunzel on her 20th birthday in 1959 and was an essential part of the family businesses B&B Appliance Sales and Service, H&R Block, and Morris Trailer Sales. Ruth, who found joy in playing euchre and outdoor activities, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Predeceased by her husband Bobby and grandson Josh Cumming, she is survived by her children Sandy and Bob, grandchildren Ryan, Jordan, Bradley, Corey, and Breanna, great-grandchildren Audrey, Callan, Hallie, and Jameson, and brother-in-law Donald Bunzel. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Memorial contributions can be made to Lightways Hospice.
