On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Coal City High School standout Payton Hutchings’ college team won in an NCAA Division I baseball game

On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Coal City High School standout Payton Hutchings’ current college team, the Illinois Fighting Illini, won 7-4 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Texas State Bobcats.

The game took place at Bobcat Ballpark. This was their third matchup against the Bobcats this season.

The Fighting Illini’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 5:05 p.m. at Illinois Field against Aurora Spartans.
