Coal City High School standout Payton Hutchings’ college team won in NCAA Division I baseball game on Friday, March 14

On Friday, March 14, former Coal City High School standout Payton Hutchings’ current college team, the Illinois Fighting Illini, won 13-9 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Valparaiso Beacons.

The game took place at Illinois Field. This was their first matchup against the Beacons this season.

The Fighting Illini’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. at Illinois Field against Valparaiso Beacons.
