Morris, June 28, 2025 - Nancy Jacobek, a helpline counselor and support coordinator known for her dedication to helping those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her home in Chicago, Illinois. She was 84 years old.

Born in Chicago on August 9, 1940, Nancy was the daughter of William and Mary Bernice Madden. She married James "Jake” Jacobek in 1963 and dedicated her life to supporting others after experiencing the loss of her mother to Alzheimer’s.

Nancy was an active member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City and was passionate about photography, participating in various photography organizations.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jake Jacobek, three daughters, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Nancy's memory. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
