Riverside Behavioral Health has announced the expansion of its services to include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The new offering is the result of a partnership with Milestone Therapy and will be available in a newly constructed space at the Riverside Healthcare Atrium, located at 400 S. Kennedy Drive in Bradley.
“We recognize the growing need for high-quality, accessible autism services in our community,” said Phil Kambic, President & CEO of Riverside Healthcare. “Partnering with Milestone Therapy allows us to bring proven, compassionate care to families right here in the Kankakee area.”
ABA Therapy is regarded as an effective approach for supporting children with autism. It uses individualized and science-based strategies to help children develop life skills and positive behaviors that can be used at home, school, and within the community. The therapy aims to improve communication, social interactions, emotional development, and daily functioning through regular assessments and data-driven plans.
The treatment model involves a team led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), who performs initial assessments, develops care plans, provides family training, and updates goals as needed. Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) implement day-to-day therapy under BCBA supervision by following treatment plans and documenting progress.
Children ages 2 to 9 who have received a formal diagnosis of Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder are eligible for ABA Therapy at Riverside. A diagnostic report and physician referral are required before scheduling an evaluation.
“As the need for ABA therapy services continues to grow, so does our footprint throughout the state,” said Drew Haverstock, owner of Milestone Therapy. “Milestone is thrilled to partner with Riverside Healthcare to provide these invaluable resources to patients and their families.”
The program is currently accepting new patients, including those covered by Medicaid. Additional information about eligibility can be found by calling (815) 939-4470 or visiting riversidehealthcare.org/behavioral-health.
