Betty married Raymond Onsen in 1964 and together they raised their sons in Coal City. She owned and operated Town and Country Salon, making lasting connections with her clients. Known for her culinary skills, especially her fried fish, Betty shared her love and comfort through food, bringing joy to many.
A devoted member of Assumption Parish, Betty volunteered selflessly and served as an extraordinary Eucharistic minister. She took pride in her sons' activities and enjoyed special moments with them at NASCAR races, creating cherished memories.
Betty is survived by her three sons, granddaughters, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her legacy of love, generosity, and devotion will be cherished by all who knew her.
A private family visitation and service were held at Assumption Catholic Church, and Betty was cremated and laid to rest alongside Raymond at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Assumption Building Fund, The Martha's of Assumption Parish, or a charity of the donor’s choice in Betty’s memory. The funeral arrangements have been managed by Reeves, Fruland, and Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory in Coal City.
