Sixth graders at Coal City Middle School focus on decimals and fractions in math

In Mrs. Moir’s sixth grade math class at Coal City Middle School, students are focusing on calculations that involve decimals and fractions. The class activities include whole group instruction, pair work, and group projects. To assist with understanding how to divide fractions, students have used fraction towers as a learning tool. According to the school, the curriculum will continue to build on these mathematical concepts throughout the academic year.
