Coal City High School has introduced programs to assist students with their academic needs outside regular school hours. The Before School Assistance Program (BSAP) is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Room 510 from 7 a.m. until the start of classes at 8:20 a.m. Meanwhile, the After School Assistance Program (ASAP) takes place in the Learning Resource Center after school on the same days, except for early dismissal days, and runs until 4:30 p.m.
Both BSAP and ASAP are accessible to any student seeking help with assignments or needing a quiet space for study or group projects. Teachers are present to provide support during these sessions. Participation does not require prior registration; students can attend whenever the programs are offered.
High school teachers Jeremy Unger and Sarah Cyrkiel coordinate these assistance programs.
