Fifth graders take on pumpkin launcher challenge for Halloween

Tracy Carlson Principal | Coal City Intermediate School

Students in Mrs. Boresi’s fifth-grade class took part in a science challenge on Halloween, aiming to create a functional pumpkin launcher. The objective was to design and build a device capable of propelling a candy pumpkin through the air towards a target. The students adhered to the engineering process and worked within constraints of limited materials and time. According to the teacher, "Overall, the students had a lot of fun creating and launching pumpkins!"
