Parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends joined the young students for this morning gathering. The event is set to continue tomorrow as fifth graders will have the opportunity to enjoy muffins with their VIPs on Friday, October 11.
On September 18, Coal City Intermediate School organized its seventh annual Pizza Delivery Night. The event took place from 4 to 8:30 p.m., with the participation of twenty-eight staff members who volunteered to ensure its success.

This method visually represents relationships between numbers on a grid formed by two perpendicular lines, known as axes. The horizontal line is referred to as the X-axis, while the vertical line is the Y-axis. Their intersection point is called the origin.
Students at Coal City Intermediate School recently engaged in an educational exercise using a version of The Game of Life to review decimals. In Mrs. Hall and Ms. O’Donnell’s class, each student assumed a role with an occupation and salary, requiring them to make purchases such as a house, car, and vacation. This activity helped students practice adding and subtracting decimals while managing their budgets.
Ms. Ternes' fourth and fifth grade general music classes recently completed a study on their September Composer of the Month, John Williams. The students discovered that Williams composed music for well-known films such as "Home Alone," "Jurassic Park," "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," and "Harry Potter." They were surprised to learn that he is 92 years old and continues to compose music.
