Coal City Intermediate School remains closed due to safety amendment

The Coal City Intermediate School campus has been closed since October 2024 under the Emergency Health and Life Safety Amendment. The Regional Office of Education mandated the closure, which will remain in effect until further notice.

This measure affects not only the school building but also all outdoor areas including the baseball field, playgrounds, open grass areas, and parking lots.

The school district emphasized that "the safety of students, staff, and community is the school district’s top priority" and expressed gratitude for "the community’s understanding and cooperation."
