The Coal City Theatre Department is set to launch its first "Athletes in the Arts" performance, marking the start of Coalers Homecoming Week. The event will take place at the Coal City Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 21 at 6 p.m.
Brody D’Orazio, a member of the Theatre Department and Coaler athlete, developed the idea for this event. It will showcase student athletes from Coal City High School as they sing, dance, and demonstrate talents beyond sports. Grade-level dance battles and additional activities are also planned.
Students interested in participating can contact Mr. Jack Micetich for more information about performing individually, with a group, or as a team.
Coal City Community Unit School District 1 includes several schools across Grundy and Will counties such as Coal City Early Childhood Center, Elementary School, Intermediate School, Middle School, and High School (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). "Athletes in the Arts" aims to provide student athletes an opportunity to display their skills off the field during Homecoming Week festivities.
