Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Gaffigan's class engaged in a series of activities themed around March Madness in recent weeks. One of the key activities was the March Madness Multiplication Tournament. During this event, students participated in rapid challenges to solve multiplication problems, collecting points for correct answers, similar to the basketball tournament format.

Additionally, the students demonstrated their creativity and teamwork in a hands-on project involving the design and construction of mini basketball catapults. Using basic materials, groups of students collaborated to launch small basketballs into hoops. Throughout these activities, the fifth graders showcased their skills in math, supportive teamwork, and innovative design.

According to officials, "Whether it involved solving math problems, cheering on classmates, or perfecting their catapult designs, the fifth graders have shown teamwork and creativity all month long!"
