Students explore forces and motion in sixth grade science class

Rodney Monbrum Assistant Principal and MS Athletic Director | Coal City Middle School

Sixth-grade science students have transitioned from studying thermal energy to exploring forces and motion. This new unit aims to deepen their understanding of Newton's Three Laws of Motion.

In a recent classroom activity, students used walking toys to learn about reference points. This exercise was designed to help them understand how objects move relative to a reference point. Future lessons will explore the application of Newton's Laws of Motion to both moving and stationary objects.
