Coalers achieve second place at wrestling invitational

Coal City Middle School recently hosted the Coalers Wrestling Invitational, featuring 17 teams. The Coalers secured second place overall, with notable performances from several individual wrestlers.

Ryder Gill and Carter Wix led the team with first-place finishes. Dominic Zuccarello and Levi Marshall earned second-place medals, while Camden Schott and Gavin Roudis achieved third place. Kamden Gabehart finished in fourth place, Grady Jensen and Phoenix Senodenos took fifth place, and Eathyn Rivera completed the competition in sixth place for his weight class.

Other team members who picked up wins at the invitational included Brantley Brooks, Cody Kozlowski, Ryan Housman, Max Marketti, Ryker Senodenos, Collin Ness, Banien Durkee, Zack Babcock, Patrick Tibble, William Teague, Travis Blatzheim, and Xavier Banks.

The wrestling team consists of students from fifth to eighth grade. The Coalers are scheduled to compete away at Channahon tonight and will visit Morris on Thursday.
