Students in Mrs. Munsterman's class recently completed their economics unit, which involved creating an economics booklet and discussing key terms like producers and consumers, as well as goods and services. As part of the project, students partnered up to create their own businesses, coming up with business names, ideas, logos or slogans. Each group had to list 10 goods and services along with a price list.

The exercise culminated in a selling day where half of the students acted as producers selling their goods and services while the other half played the role of consumers with $100 to spend. At the end of the day, producers calculated whether they made a profit or loss by subtracting expenses from their earnings. Consumers totaled their purchases to ensure it matched their initial amount.

In another activity within Mrs. Munsterman’s classroom, students explored addition and subtraction of fractions and mixed numbers through a Fractions Breakout themed "Mad Mathematician: Fraction Breakout." The challenge began with a message from "Marvelous Matt, the Mad Mathematician," who claimed he had trapped them in the classroom. To escape, students needed to solve fraction problems to unlock various ciphers.

The breakout featured puzzles based on TV shows such as Survivor and Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. Students worked in groups led by team leaders to solve Morse Code, Pig Pen Cipher, riddles, A1Z26 Cipher, and Atbash Cipher challenges. Their collaborative efforts were successful as they managed to break out with 1 minute and 51 seconds remaining.
