Joseph F. Grega, Jr., age 77, of Diamond, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Diamond.

Born on March 3, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois to Joseph, Sr. and Hazel Grega, Joe attended Coal City High School, Joliet Junior College, and Northern Illinois University. He married Karen Tyler in 1968, celebrating 56 years of marriage.

Joe worked at the Dresden Nuclear Station in Morris for 27 years, demonstrating his dedication. Passionate about fishing, he held a state record for the largest Perch caught in Illinois. An outdoorsman and member of various clubs, he enjoyed daily rides, boating, and golf. Known as "Goose" by friends, Joe was a Chicago sports fan and often played cards. His sense of humor and generosity touched many, as he prioritized his family and animals.

Survived by his wife, Karen, son Brian, sister-in-law Kathleen Lestina, nieces Haley Florey-Hoffman and Kim Pavlis, nephew Aaron Lestina, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Debra Grega, and in-laws Marvin and Delores Tyler.

Cremation rites were held. A memorial visitation and service were at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City. Burial followed at Braceville Gardner Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to charities chosen by the family in Joe's memory.

Arrangements were under Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory in Coal City.
