Coal City - Jim Bozich, age 76, of Coal City, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home.

Born on February 4, 1949, in Elizabeth City, Virginia, Jim, a proud son of Steve and Gladys Bozich, was raised in Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from Joliet West High School in 1967 and served honorably in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam. In 1991, he married his soulmate, Peggy (nee Malone), and shared a life full of love and warmth. Jim was a master cabinet maker, dedicating many years of service to Euro Tech Designs in Plainfield, Illinois before retiring.

Jim had a deep appreciation for nature, finding solace in fishing and woodworking, activities he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren. An avid coin collector and recycling enthusiast, he took great care in preserving the environment. Jim's love for life extended to concerts and restoring his beloved 1998 Mustang. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jim's loyalty, protective nature, and strong leadership made him the cornerstone of his family.

He is survived by his wife Peggy; children Dan Davidson, Shawn (Amber) Davidson, Amanda Davidson, James Jr., Jason, Brian, and Kim Hale; grandchildren Zach and William Davidson; great-grandchildren Myia and Kai Davidson; siblings Faye Warner, Debrah Tracy, and Ken Warner; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Gladys, and brother-in-law Tom Malone.

Cremation rites have been performed, and a celebration of life is planned for a later date. Jim will be laid to rest with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Memorial donations in his name can be made to Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Illinois.
