Parents encouraged to participate in anonymous survey

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is now open for parents to take. This anonymous survey provides feedback needed to assess current successes and identify areas for improvement. According to the announcement, "We guarantee that survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your student. " School reports will only present aggregated information on how parents and students responded collectively.

Parent participation in the survey will help schools understand overall student experiences and guide improvements. The announcement reiterated, "Your identity and individual survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. "

Teachers, along with all fourth through twelfth-grade students throughout Illinois, are also taking the 5Essentials Survey. These research-based reports will be sent to schools and districts in March and included in the State School Report Card, released statewide in the fall.

Parents can visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ to complete the parent survey, which takes approximately five minutes.

For any questions regarding the survey, parents are encouraged to contact their student's principal.
