Karen Alma Friddle, aged 79, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the Arc of Dwight. Born to Melvin and Josephine Friddle, Karen was a lifelong Wilmington resident. Renowned for her decades-long career as a bartender at Tuffy’s and Snookers in Wilmington, Karen found joy in welcoming patrons and creating a warm atmosphere. As a single mother, she raised five children with determination, humor, and love, cherishing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen was an avid supporter of the Wilmington Wildcats, NASCAR, and the Chicago Cubs, showcasing her passion for sports. She had a talent for gardening and was known for her ability to nurture plants. Karen's lively spirit, sense of humor, and love for community will be dearly missed.

Karen is survived by her children: Tiffanee Joly, Aaron and Sarah Hawks, Chad and Colleen Duke, Ashley Storbeck, Shana Pogliano; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings Melva Jo McCarville, Donald Friddle, Charles Friddle, Kathleen Friddle, and Mary Hairold; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and sister-in-law.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Memorial Gathering will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington on June 21, 2025.
