Coal City Community Unit School District 1 has welcomed its youngest students back for the new school year. Early learners are adjusting to classroom routines, meeting classmates, and understanding school and playground rules. In recent days, students have also been introduced to the tools they will use in class.

Pre-kindergarten teacher Mrs. Villafuerte commented on the start of the year: "we are so excited for another fun school year!"

The district serves Grundy and Will counties and includes Coal City Early Childhood Center, Coal City Elementary School, Coal City High School, Coal City Intermediate School, and Coal City Middle School. More information about these schools can be found at https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/.
