Middle schoolers tackle percents and functions in math classes

Cameron Stone Principal at Coal City Middle School | Coal City Middle School

Middle school students at Mrs. Wankowski's classes are engaged in learning about percents and functions. In the seventh-grade math class, students are tackling various percent problems, including tax, tip, commission, discount, markup, and simple interest. To practice these concepts, they played math dominos focusing on solving for tax, tip, and commission.

Meanwhile, the eighth-grade math class has recently completed a unit on functions. As part of their test preparation, students participated in a review game that incorporated demonstrating their bag skills. The upcoming unit will cover graphing linear functions.
