Seventh graders explore plant reproduction through hands-on flower dissection

Paula Barla Secretary | Coal City Middle School

Students in seventh grade science are engaging with the reproduction unit through various activities. One of these activities involved a flower dissection, where students worked in small teams to carefully cut open flowers. The objective was to find specific parts of the flower. During this lab, students created their own microscope slides of different flower parts for closer examination. This allowed them to identify different reproductive structures.
