Benjamin McLain joins Riverside Healthcare as VP of operations

Riverside Healthcare has announced the appointment of Benjamin McLain as its new Vice President of Operations. McLain, who holds an MBA from Olivet Nazarene University, brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to his new role. His career includes work in both for-profit multispecialty physician-owned practices and not-for-profit hospital-based health systems.

Expressing enthusiasm about his return to Kankakee County, McLain stated, “It is great to be back in Kankakee County and to be a part of such a great team. I can see the passion from the physicians, leadership, and clinical teams for serving the needs of this community. It is my goal to serve and make a difference to both the Riverside staff and the patients we care for.”

Prior to joining Riverside Healthcare, McLain was Vice President of Operations at Springfield Clinic, which operates with 700 providers across 105 locations and generates over $2 billion in revenue annually. At Riverside, he will manage several departments including Perioperative Services, Imaging Services, Laboratory Services, Pharmacy Services, Heart and Vascular Institute, Neurosciences, Orthopedics, and Surgical Services.

Phil Kambic, President and CEO of Riverside Healthcare expressed confidence in McLain's capabilities by stating: “I am confident that his leadership and expertise will be invaluable assets to our organization.”

McLain resides locally with his wife and three sons.
