James G. Harvey, 75, a longtime resident of Braceville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home. Born in Joliet, Illinois, James, also known as Jim, served in the United States military as a Military Policeman with the Army before retiring as a welder and pipefitter from Durkee Foods after three decades of service. He had a passion for classic western films, NASCAR, fishing, and spending time outdoors. James is survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friend Phil Bayta. Cremation rights have been accorded, with a celebration of life scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City. Interment with full military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Reeves, Fruland & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory.
