Mrs. Sobin's elementary school class recently celebrated Peep Day with activities that combined entertainment with educational value. Students participated in a science experiment exploring how Peeps dissolve in various liquids such as water, soda, and vinegar. The session offered insight into chemical reactions.
Following this, children engaged in jelly bean STEM activities, using candies to construct structures. The event also included a "5 senses" activity, where students tasted different flavors of Peeps. They then discussed their impressions and graphically represented their favorite flavors, integrating math and critical thinking into the day's events.
The day concluded with the "Adopt-A-Peep" event, where each student chose and named their own Peep, bringing a personal element to the celebration.
