Coal City Middle School's physical education classes are currently engaged in a badminton unit, which has proven to be quite popular among the sixth and seventh graders. The PE teacher, Mark Masters, explained that students are being educated on using five distinct types of swings. They are also learning strategies on leveraging their opponent's position and determining the optimal timing for each type of stroke.
Meanwhile, the eighth-grade health class has recently concluded a unit on the five components of physical fitness. The students explored ways to set fitness goals aimed at enhancing their quality of life. This week, their focus has shifted to a discussion on nutrition.
