Coalers Athletics recently honored its senior soccer players during a special recognition event. Among those recognized was Chloe Pluger, a four-year member of the Coalers Girls Soccer Team. In addition to soccer, Pluger participated in basketball, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Link Leaders, Coalers with Character and Yearbook. She will continue her education at Eureka College majoring in political science with a minor in psychology and play for the Red Devils Women’s Soccer Team. She was accompanied on Senior Night by her parents Matt and Candi Pluger and Kelly Flood and Al Zuccarello.
Corinna Barkley also received recognition for her contributions to the team. During high school, she was involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Coalers with Character, Speech, Math Team, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Barkley plans to attend Augustana College majoring in political science on a pre-law track while continuing athletics as part of the Augie Soccer Team. Her parents Stephanie Barkley and Clark Barkley accompanied her on Senior Night.
Aylie Castle was acknowledged for her two years with the Coalers Girls Soccer Team. She also played volleyball and participated in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, EmpowHER, Coalers with Character and Students Standing Strong. Castle intends to pursue an education degree at Calvin University in Michigan to become an elementary school teacher. Her parents Becky and Tyler Castle were present during the ceremony.
Kylee Kennell's four-year commitment to the team was celebrated as well. Besides soccer, she participated in golf and basketball along with being a member of National Honor Society Coaler Creations Yearbook FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) among others. Kennell will attend the University of Southern Indiana for a bachelor's degree in Health Services aiming for an occupational therapy certification eventually pursuing further studies into occupational therapy itself; Danielle & Harlan Kennell escorted their daughter that evening.
Ava Meyer another four-year veteran had herservice recognized too; apart from playing she contributed through Science Club Art Club Band where served Drum Major final year besides NHS(NSPANISH).MEYER plans join University Illinois @Urbana-Champaign major Animal Science Veterinary Medicine parents Sara Brooks Eric Amanda Meyer accompanied
Lastly Anayi Mayorga who spent equal time received honors coaches teammates; intending Joliet Junior College Business Management Cosmetology Crisel Ricardo Mayorga stood by
