Summer athletic camps are ongoing throughout July, providing young participants the chance to learn from high school athletes and coaches in football, soccer, softball, and baseball.

The youth football camp is designed for students entering fourth to eighth grades. It will cover game fundamentals, including philosophy, terminology, and player positions. This camp is scheduled for July 14-18 at the Coal City High School Stadium from 10-11:30 a.m.

A softball camp for students entering fourth to eighth grades will also be held next week at Coal City Middle School. Participants will attend from 9-10:30 a.m., focusing on offensive and defensive strategies as well as teamwork skills.

For those entering sixth to eighth grade, a soccer camp is available from July 21-25. The camp will emphasize offensive skills such as dribbling and shooting, along with defensive techniques like footwork and positioning. Goalkeeping training and small-sided scrimmages are included. This session takes place at the Coal City High School Soccer Field from 6:30-8 p.m.

Baseball enthusiasts entering fifth to eighth grades can join a camp where each day highlights different aspects of the game. Starting with offensive skills on Monday and moving through defensive play, team strategies, individual positions, and ending with an instructional scrimmage on Friday. This camp runs from July 21-25 at Cullick Field from 9-10:30 a.m.

Registration for the Coalers Summer Youth Camps costs $35 per camper and can be completed online.
