The Village of Coal City has provided updates regarding its ongoing Lead Remediation Project. The village board adopted an ordinance to secure funding from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) for the first phase of the lead remediation initiative. In addition, a contractor was chosen through a bidding process to begin work on replacing lead service lines as part of the project.
