The Coalers Boys Varsity Soccer Team secured the championship at the Coal City Coalers Shootout on Saturday, August 30, with three consecutive shutout victories. The team achieved wins over Reed-Custer (4-0) and Plano (5-0), which advanced them to the final match. In the championship game, they defeated Peotone 1-0 in what was described as a hard-fought contest.
