The Coal City Community Unit School District 1 boys and girls golf teams secured conference wins against Manteno on Tuesday. The girls team finished with a score of 227 to Manteno’s 232, while the boys won 184 to 202.
Girls team members Josephine Kline scored 53, Kayla Kowalski had 58, Kylan Colambuono recorded a 58, and Liv Sulzberger also finished with a 58.
On the boys side, sophomores Jaxon Duke, Trevor Walker, and Cody Scheer each shot a 46. Freshman Reed Sulzberger also posted a score of 46.
“It was a great team effort,” Coach Harlan Kennell said.
Following these matches, the Coalers Boys Team holds a conference record of 2-1 and an overall record of 3-3. The Girls Team now stands at 2-2 overall.
