Last weekend, the Marching Coalers traveled to Pontiac for their first contest of the season. The band participated in Class B at the Pontiac Showdown Marching Band Contest, performing movements one and two from their 2025 field show titled "Rearrange." The performance included music written by Jeff Chambers, as well as "The Sound of Silence" by Disturbed and "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap.

Despite high temperatures, the Marching Band won Best Percussion and Best Colorguard in their class and placed fourth overall. They also received second place in subcategories such as Music Performance and Visual Performance Individual.

On Saturday, September 20, the band is scheduled to compete at Northern Illinois University in the Red and Black Fall Classic.
