Students from Coal City Middle School attended the annual Eighth Grade Career Fair on October 28. The event was organized by the Community Foundation of Grundy County and the Grundy Area Vocational Center (GAVC). It brought together students from across the county to learn about career opportunities after high school by meeting with representatives from businesses, trade organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Coal City Middle School is part of Coal City Community Unit School District 1, which serves both Grundy and Will counties.
