Riverside Healthcare has announced the addition of Dr. Akhil Shori to its medical team as an interventional pain medicine specialist. Dr. Shori is now accepting new patients at Riverside Medical Group Orthopedic Specialists in Bourbonnais.
Dr. Shori specializes in minimally invasive techniques for managing and treating acute and chronic pain, including conditions affecting the neck, back, shoulders, major joints, and arthritis.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the College of Medical Sciences in Nepal and a Master of Surgery in Orthopedics from Era’s Lucknow Medical College in India. After practicing as an orthopedic trauma surgeon for a year, he moved to the United States where he completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Shori is affiliated with several medical societies such as the American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Medical Association, and Indian Orthopedic Association.
