Phyllis Bruno, Devoted Community Member and Cook, Passes Away at 95

COAL CITY, IL - Phyllis Bruno, aged 95, of Coal City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Illinois on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Born in Joliet, Illinois on March 12, 1929, Phyllis was known for her work at Uniroyal and as a secretary at Coal City High School. She was a dedicated member of the Coal City United Methodist Church and involved in various community groups.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Cynthia (John) Hankovcak and Mark Bruno, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Bruno, and others. The family will receive friends at Coal City United Methodist Church on Friday, November 1, 2024, with funeral services to follow. Burial will be at Braceville Gardner Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Coal City United Methodist Church or Lightways Hospice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory in Coal City.
