Class explores letters and numbers with creative turkey-themed activities

Erin Christopher Food Service Manager | Coal City Community Unit School District 1

Mrs. Mullen's class at Coal City Early Childhood Center is engaging in educational activities focused on letters, numbers, and counting. The students are currently learning about the letter U through various exercises that enhance their fine motor skills. Activities include pinching stickers to form the letter U and identifying items that begin with this letter.

In addition to their work with letters, the class has incorporated turkey-themed activities into their curriculum. These activities involve using fine motor skills to "feed" turkeys and count feathers on them. Another exercise includes discovering alphabet letters by finding items hidden in acorns.

"We have loved adding fun turkey activities to our work this month," Mrs. Mullen noted.
