On December 8, 2024, Pastor Caleb B. Counterman, age 48 of Morris, Illinois, tragically passed away due to injuries from a motor vehicle accident. Born on July 25, 1976, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Caleb was a devoted husband, father, and unwavering servant of God.

Growing up in upstate New York and Maryland, Caleb's life journey led him to become a pastor guided by a fervent passion for ministering to others. A graduate from Maranatha Baptist University and Lansdale Theological Seminary, Caleb's dedication to pastoral ministry was evident through his impactful work in various roles, including his time as pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Morris, IL, and service at SouthField Church in Channahon, IL.

Caleb's life was marked by his deep love for his family, including his wife Jessica and sons Levi and Jared. Described as fun-loving and wise, Caleb cherished family time, shared theological debates, and cherished moments with his loved ones. His commitment to service extended beyond the church walls into the community, reflecting his selfless and caring nature.

Known for his integrity, patience, and honesty, Caleb touched the lives of many through pastoral ministry, volunteer work, and serving on the Grundy County Board, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Caleb's life verse from Titus 2:11-14 echoed his belief in the grace of God and the hope found in Jesus Christ. His legacy of faith, kindness, and service will forever be remembered.

Survived by his wife Jessica, sons Levi and Jared, parents Andrew and Jo Ellen Counterman, brothers Luke and Simeon, and extended family members, Caleb is mourned deeply by all who were touched by his inspiring life.

In honor of his memory, a memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at SouthField Church in Channahon, IL, with a memorial service to follow. Cremation rites reflect Caleb's wishes, and preferred memorials can be made to support local charities. Flowers, particularly poinsettias in honor of Caleb's love for Christmas, are welcomed for those wishing to send them.

Caleb's life and service will forever remain a beacon of faith, love, and dedication to the Lord.
