Kindergarten students from Mrs. Steichen's and Mr. Pfeifer's class have been exploring the concept of "wants and needs" in their social studies lessons. As part of this exploration, they discussed what they hope to receive for Christmas this year. Each child selected four gift ideas, drew a picture of each, and used inventive spelling to write them down.

Mrs. Steichen noted the challenge young children face with writing: “Writing is not easy for five-year-olds, however it is the most fun to read.”

The list of desired gifts includes a variety of items such as computers, stuffed animals, fans, trains, helicopters, flowers, motor trucks, couches, dolls, Legos, games, kitchen sets, BB guns, jet skis, police officer toys, makeup kits, dresses, jewelry pieces, craft materials, basketballs, laser guns, dollhouses, skateboards, Barbies and guinea pigs.

The kindergarteners extend their wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
