Teachers pied for charity raise over $400

Ms. Fincher experienced an unexpected event when she received three pies to the face as part of a fundraising initiative. Alongside her colleague, Mrs. Mark, both sixth-grade teachers were at the forefront of a school fundraiser known as "penny wars," aimed at supporting local families in need.

The challenge was simple: students were encouraged to bring in spare change, and the teacher who raised the most money would have a pie smashed in their face by a student. Ms. Fincher and Mrs. Mark managed to collect $155.48 together, securing their place for the pie-in-the-face event.

Interestingly, it wasn't just these two teachers who participated in this light-hearted spectacle. Other educators joined them after agreeing to take part if they placed second or third in fundraising efforts. Mrs. Sweeney and Mr. Peters' class contributed $107.73, while Mr. Fatigante raised $87.57.

The enthusiasm among students was contagious, prompting additional sixth-grade teachers to join in on the fun by volunteering for a whipped cream pie facial treatment.

In total, the penny wars fundraiser successfully generated $437.31, which will be donated to assist local families during the holiday season.
