Rosemary Pearl Zamora, 95, a resident of Coal City, Illinois, died on Friday, December 13, 2024 at her home. Born on March 14, 1929 in Crestline, Ohio to Starling and Margaret Poth, she graduated from high school in 1947 and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Fairview Hospital in 1950. She married Dr. Jose Zamora on July 10, 1954 and dedicated herself to raising their family. Zamora worked as a school nurse in the Coal City School District for seventeen years before retiring to enjoy time with her grandchildren. An accomplished gardener and seamstress, she was known for her resourcefulness and love for animals. Zamora is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister Carol Gledhill, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jose Zamora, and siblings Charles, Ruth, and Joyce. Cremation rites have been conducted, and a private family inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
