In Ms. Horrie's middle school math classes, students have been exploring various aspects of geometry, focusing on volume and surface area calculations for three-dimensional figures.
"We have been finding the volume and surface areas of many 3D figures, including rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, cylinders, cones, pyramids, and spheres," Ms. Horrie stated.
The students engaged in small group activities to measure and calculate the volumes and surface areas of different 3D shapes found in their classroom.
"Students worked very well together, and came up with the most accurate measurement they could get using a measuring tape or ruler. They did a great job working as a group," said Ms. Horrie.
