Coal City High School's boys golf team recorded its best 18-hole team score at the Illinois Central Eight (ICE) Conference Tournament, finishing third with a total of 342. The tournament took place on Monday, September 22, at Wolf Creek Golf Course.

Coach Harlan Kennell commented on the team's progress: "I am very proud to see our players continuing to improve this season. They are definitely ready for the IHSA postseason."

Jaxon Duke and Frankie Ponio received All Conference Awards for their performances. Jaxon Duke finished third overall in the conference season with an average score of 43.7 among 48 golfers, while Frankie Ponio placed eleventh with a 45.7 average. Other Coalers competing were Kory Lovell, Cody Scheer, and Reed Sulzberger.

Coal City Community Unit School District 1 includes several schools in Grundy and Will counties, such as Coal City Early Childhood Center, Coal City Elementary School, Coal City High School, Coal City Intermediate School, and Coal City Middle School.
