The Coal City High School girls golf team secured second place at the Illinois Central Eight (ICE) Conference Tournament held at Wolf Creek Golf Course on September 22. This marked the team's third competition at the course within a week.
Three members of the team—Liv Sulzberger, Joey Kline, and Emma Sinkular—earned All-Conference honors for their performances. Emma Sinkular achieved a personal best score of 89, becoming the ICE conference individual champion. Liv Sulzberger and Joey Klein each recorded scores of 103, which were also career lows for 18 holes.
Other team participants included Kayla Kowlaski, Jackie Dodge, and Abi Rose.
The Coalers are scheduled to compete again in Ottawa on September 24 and will prepare for Regionals set to begin next week.
